Welcome to My Gallery

This is my first blog post on this gallery website for sharing my photography, oil pastel paintings, and whatever else comes to my mind. As a software developer and an advocate of digital freedom, I wanted to steer clear from established social networks, but have a way of dropping a link to some work, that gives me more control of presentation and looks of the page. For a long I lacked time needed to build such website, but with advent of LLM and nice frameworks, like Astro, here we are!

The theme and functionality of this page aims to replicate the look and feel of 2000s pages: over the top visual and sound effects, lots of bling, easter-eggs, striking colors and cheesy text. However I wanted the website to be static, avoid server-side rendering, but keep it snappy and simple - so not SPA either. That’s where Astro framework absolutely shined - during compilation it pretty much builds the whole website to a folder structure of static html files.
